“To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place… I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.” Elliott Erwitt

One of my favorite things is finding a quote that sums up what you want to say. Photography for me is a way to observe the world, exploring its people and places. Basically, I am that person who loves going to the airport early to people-watch. Travel is my favorite excuse to observe culture and its people, photographing the quirks and spirit I find.

When I am not traveling, I call Los Angeles and Phoenix my home. I love both the big city and the Arizona desert. A few of my favorite things are my family, dark roasted coffee, my david bowie vinyl albums, and thrift shopping.

I graduated with a degree in Visual Journalism from Biola University. It was the best of both worlds, learning to tell stories and craft a powerful image. I have become obsessed with stories, listening to them and telling them. There is nothing better in the world. After four years of unbelievable experiences using journalism and photography, I look forward to continuing and growing my passion.

Thanks for reading my blog!

  1. Hi Kelsey,

Your grandmother sent me the link to your blog. Kelsey, these pictures are FABULOUS!! You are very, very good!!! I knew you were good when you were here at the lake! I love the pictures you took here and I am still planning on framing many of them. You are perfecting your craft and WOW!! You are in your element! I am so proud of you! Come back to Jefferson!!! We all miss you guys!

  2. Hey Kelsey! I have seen your photography! It’s so amazing!

I am a friend of Ellyn’s here in Phoenix and I have been chosen to compete as a model in NYC for the IMTA convention. I cannot go without a professional looking portfolio though. I was wondering if you would sponsor me by letting me be one of your subjects for free and I will in turn advertise your name not only at IMTA, but across Arizona.
IMTA is an international event. Over 500 agents from the U.S and around the world will be looking at your work should you choose to help me.
Please email me at pocosgirl@cox.net or ask Ellyn Heald for my phone number. You took pictures of her not too long ago. :)

    Thank you,
    Emily Beghin

PS: Please let me know if you are interested by the 21st of March!!!! If you want pay, please call or email me! I would like to work anything out with you that I can!

This is a big chance for you to get your name out there!
